About Rising Voices
Founded in 2013, the Rising Voices Fellowship is a ten-month program for young Jewish women and non-binary teens* in 10th-12th grades looking to participate in a community that centers the experiences of Jewish women.* Rising Voices Fellows have a passion for writing and an interest in Judaism, feminism, and social justice. Through the program, participants develop authentic voices, strengthen their leadership through writing, and begin to influence the important conversations of the Jewish and feminist communities.
Fellows write articles every other month, which are published on jwa.org. (Read the work of the Rising Voices Fellows here.) During monthly webinars and two in-person retreats in the Boston area, Fellows explore their Jewish feminist identities in a pluralistic environment, learning from inspiring guest teachers and mentors.
As Fellows graduate from the program and move on to college and careers, they are invited to join the RVF alums network, where they continue to build and strengthen their connections with each other and broaden their impact on the world around them.

*JWA embraces expansive understandings of what it means to be Jewish and a woman. We welcome Fellows from any Jewish background, as well as non-binary, genderqueer, and gender-questioning teens who want to explore the identity "Jewish woman" in all its complexity.
JWA thanks the Jewish Teen Initiative at CJP for their support for the Rising Voices Fellowship.
