Emily Taitz
Emily Taitz received a B.A. from Queens College (CUNY) and an M.A. and Ph.D. in medieval Jewish history from The Jewish Theological Seminary in New York. She specialized in Jewish women’s history and wrote many books on the subject, including her first, groundbreaking work Written Out of History, co-authored with Sondra Henry, and The JPS Guide to Jewish Women: 600 B.C.E.–1900 C.E. (2003), co-authored with Sondra Henry and Cheryl Tallan. Taitz taught Women’s Studies and general history courses for ten years at Adelphi University. She then concentrated on writing. She published numerous articles and books, most about Jewish women.
