Brilliant, magical interview and great, great story! In the past month I have thought of writing a book or a screenplay, thought of trying to contact Spielberg to persuade him to make a film about Polish Jews and their high culture in the independent, multi-cultural,city-state of Gdansk, known then as Danzig,Poland, just before Hitler took control; and the final act of self-extinction by that Jewish community, that allowed some to escape, and others to perish, alongside almost as many hated Poles. In the catalog of tragedies, this is the oee that moves me the most. As a feminist, I cannot wait to see the film about thw women-resisters. As someone who is half-Polish and deeply Jewish-inculturated. I want the world to know much more about this time and place. Ia would love to meet Judy Batalion and talk with her about Gdansk. My deepest congratulations to all of you. For me, it is a privilege to learn about your existence, and await more. I am not Jewish, but inculturated
