I really liked your blog about Miss Fisher. your comment "I normally have to unplug my feminist brain when I settle down to consume media" hit very close to home. I love reading and watching suspense and action thrillers but they are so misogynistic that I need to put aside my sense of self worth as a woman if I want to enjoy them. So much so that I had given up looking for a complete heroine till Phryne came on the scene. I loved the series and I adored the books. I still read them when I get tired of the current trend of "Oh I shall wait for the man of my heart till I die even if he treats me like shit".."I am a one man woman and I will never ever sleep with an another man and sully my real woman image"..I don't know how to have fun if I am not with the love of my life" heroines.
I do agree with you and would love to see and read about more heroines like Phryne- tough, independent and able to live life to the full and definitely having lots of lovers.
I really liked your blog and its views of Miss Fisher as a free spirited heroine and our need for more. I shall look forward to reading more of your blogs.
Cheers
