I know this is an old thread but the story of Anne Franks is an older story that was here long before this and will continue long after. For people basically imprisoned in an attic they have basically all the time in the world to do chores but seem to wait until the Shabbat to do a lot of their work like stripping peas for example. Another thing she says that is a little odd while studying the Bible she wonders how much longer until she gets to the story of the bathing Susanna. She may very well had to wait a very long time as it is not included in the Tanakh or even most Christian Bibles. I had never even heard of the story until she wrote about it and I looked it up. Still with that being said what happened to her and her family is just terrible and I'm glad she is being remembered. With the addition of the edited deleted text you do get a stronger sense of who she was as a normal person in extraordinary but tragic times.
