'Fat talk' or 'fat shaming' is, IMHO a perfectly understandable and reasonable reaction to obesity. Although growth of fat tissue is largely unavoidable, in whatever race, due to social factors and it's large genetic component; being fat should never be acceptable.
Suffering from obesity is abnormal, and associated with an increased risk in almost all chronic diseases of 'western' civilisation. It should never therefore be considered as anything other than abhorrent, just as anorexia or other forms of self harm are considered damaging in our society.
