By the time I started going to theater, the Yiddish theater was just about vanished (although I did see Dina Halpern in Lillian Hellman's De Kleine Fuxn, circa 1950.) Molly Picon was just a name to me until she transitioned from Second Avenue to Broadway in Milk and Honey. I remember her as a tiny woman, who commanded the stage, and whose charisma could be felt in the back row of the peanut gallery. And that was in English!
