About We Celebrate

We Celebrate offers exactly that: the chance to tell a woman in your life why she is important to you and how she has made the world a better place. It enables you to create a meaningful, one-of-a-kind tribute to her and add it to a beautiful, public collection honoring the extraordinary women in our lives. When you add a tribute, you are also helping record Jewish women’s history in our own time.

Perhaps you’re looking for a meaningful gift for a milestone birthday, a bat mitzvah, or to mark a conversion. Or you’re celebrating a loved one’s graduation or retirement. Maybe this is the year you come up with a creative Mother’s Day gift that’s not the usual flowers!

We Celebrate enables you to honor a woman on any occasion, large or small, by telling her how she has made a difference. Your gift will stand out from others she receives—instead of another thing, it’s a personal, heartfelt, lasting tribute that lives on in a special online collection.

We Celebrate allows you not only to give an extraordinary gift, but also to make a tax-deductible donation to the Jewish Women’s Archive supporting JWA’s work to preserve and promote the stories of Jewish women past and present. Adding your loved one’s name to the archive is a priceless honor to her—and ensures that her own and other women’s stories will be shared to inspire people everywhere.
How to make a tribute
Here’s how We Celebrate works!
- Go to the We Celebrate form in the JWA Shop, and select the occasion you’re honoring. (Choose “other” to customize this). You will see guided questions that help you shape your tribute; these are optional, and will not appear if you don’t fill them out. Peruse the collection for ideas!
- When you’re done responding to the questions and uploading an (optional) image, you can review what your tribute will look like online and make changes if you’d like. Once you’re happy with the finished tribute, proceed to payment. This payment is a fully tax-deductible donation to the Jewish Women’s Archive, which supports the addition of stories of Jewish women, like your honoree, to the archive, as well as JWA’s larger mission to inform and engage people about the contributions of Jewish women to our world.
- It takes up to 2 business days for your tribute to appear live on the site. If you are creating the tribute in honor of a particular date, please plan your submission accordingly.
- Your honoree will receive a special greeting from JWA announcing the tribute you have created in her honor and providing the link to it.
The Jewish Women’s Archive reserves the right to exclude submitted content that it deems inappropriate, offensive, or commercial, and will provide a refund in such cases.
