Butchers, Babushkas, and Consumer Activism
The webinar was held on Tuesday, November 13, 2013 at 1pm and 8pm.
Dr. Judith Rosenbaum, JWA's Former Director of Public History, and Etta King, Education Program Manager, led the inaugural program in the Jewish Women’s Archive's Sharing Stories/Inspiring Change webinar series.
The topic of our first webinar was the 1902 Kosher Meat Boycott in New York City. Attendees learned about the boycott, took part in a discussion of how consumer activism relates to Jewish values, and participated as JWA staff members modeled part of the brand new Labor Movement material in Living the Legacy: A Jewish Social Justice Education Project.
