Ruth Salmonson Krasnoff

b. 1910

Ruth Salmonson Krasnoff was born in August 1910 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and grew up in Dorchester. She was a member of the confirmation class of 1927 at Boston's Temple Israel and remained a lifelong member, except for a brief affiliation with Temple Ohabei Shalom. Ruth married Joseph Krasnoff and had two children, Miriam and Bernard. She passed away in June 2002.

Scope and Content Note

Ruth provides biographical information on various family members, including when they immigrated to the United States. She briefly talks about her school experiences and growing up in Dorchester. Ruth went into the business world after graduating. She tells anecdotes about her family's Jewish observance and education, focusing primarily on her experience over the years at Temple Israel, which included joining, confirmation, and re-joining after the death of her more religious father-in-law.
