Ga’avah: LGBTQ+ Jews
Ga’avah: LGBTQ+ Jews explores the intersections of the gay and Jewish community, with a focus on how early Jewish gay and lesbian activists and community members shaped the queer landscape in the Boston area. Conducted for JWA by Nicole Zador, a library science graduate student at Simmons University, in 2022, the contributors include scholars, activists, and leaders within the Jewish community, who reflect on their work from the 70s/80s until today to create more inclusive spaces for queer Jews. Topics also include the AIDS crisis, marriage equality, and the connections between identity, gender, and sexuality.
