Madeline Bender
Madeline Bender was born and raised in New York City. She attends the Horace Mann School in the Bronx. Madeline participated in a research training internship with Ma’yan, a Jewish feminist organization in New York. She is interested in studying science and journalism.
Madeline talks about growing up in New York City, attending the Horace Mann School in the Bronx, and her synagogue, B’nai Jeshurun, where she attended Hebrew School and was bat mitvahed. She describes the various club and organizations she is involved in, including a teen program at B’nai Jeshurun, a research training internship with Ma’yan, and her AP and honors classes at school. Madeline analyzes how her feminism has informed her Jewish practice and life in general. She shares personal experiences of encountering gender equality and advises young women on the tools she’s learned to combat anti-feminist attitudes.
