Amy Levy, January 1889

British poet and novelist Amy Levy, in January 1889, just six months before she took her own life at the age of twenty-seven. It first appeared alongside Oscar Wilde's tribute to this exceptional individual—a Jewish woman of letters in nineteenth century England—published in an 1890 issue of Women's World.
