Alice Yelen
Alice Yelen is assistant to the director for special projects and curator of self-taught art at the New Orleans Museum of Art, where she has served as chief curator of education. Yelen curated the exhibitions and authored the related catalogs for Passionate Visions of the American South: Self-Taught Artists from 1940 to the Present and Zenga: Brushstrokes of Enlightenment. She holds a B.A. from Brandeis University and two masters degrees: one in art history from Columbia University and one in museum education from George Washington University. Yelen has been a board member of a number of museum organizations as well as of the National Foundation for Jewish Culture.
