Kathryn Kish Sklar
Kathryn Kish Sklar graduated from Radcliffe College in 1965 and received her Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in 1969. She has taught at the University of Michigan and the University of California at Los Angeles and is currently distinguished professor of history at the State University of New York at Binghamton. Her books focus on the history of women’s participation in social movements and public culture and include Catharine Beecher: A Study in American Domesticity (1973), Florence Kelley and the Nation’s Work: The Rise of Women’s Political Culture, 1830–1900 (1995) and Social Justice Feminists in the United States and Germany: A Dialogue in Documents, 1885–1933 (1998). She is co-editor of Women and Power in American History, The Social Survey Movement in Historical Perspective (1991) and U.S. History as Women’s History: New Feminist Essays (1995).
