Uri Miller

Uri Miller has a M.A. in history from Moscow University and Ph.D. in librarianship from Peterburg University of Culture and Arts. After a decade and a half of work at Wingate Institute for Physical Education and Sport he is now a director for development of controlled vocabularies at eJewish—Developing Jewish Networking Infrastructures, in Jerusalem. His scientific interests are divided between thesauri construction and the history of Jewish sport in Russia. Among his publications is Sport in the History of Jews and Jews in the History of Sport, the first Russian-language book on this theme.

Maria Gorokhovskaya

Ukrainian-born Maria Gorokhovskaya was the top performer among all athletes, both male and female, at the 1952 Olympics in Helsinki, where, at the "advanced" age of thirty-one, she earned seven medals in the Games' gymnastics competitions.
