Eyal Katvan

Prof. Eyal Katvan is a jurist, ethicist, bioethicist, and legal and medical historian. He is an Associate Professor and the Head (Founder) of The Institute for the Study of the Professions at Peres Academic Center, as well as President of the Israeli Law and Society Association. His research is multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary, combining the fields of Law, Medicine, Women/Gender, Ethics, and History. Katval wrote two doctoral dissertations, the first focusing on health/medical profession(s), women in the professions, and bioethics/ feminist approaches to bioethics; and the second on legal profession(s), women in the legal professions, and legal (professional) ethics, as well as the inter-relations between these professions (such as the legal regulation of the medical professions) and using sociological, ethical, historical, empirical and feminist methodology or approaches.
