Yehudit Kafri
Yehudit Kafri (b. 1935), who was born on Kibbutz Ein ha-Horesh, lives in Mazkeret Batyah, Israel. She worked for Sifriyat ha-Po’alim as a translator and editor of textbooks in psychology and education. She has published sixteen books, including eight books of poetry, two children’s books and several prose works. She has won several literary prizes, including the Prime Minister’s Prize for Literature in 1987. Her latest book, Zosha: From the Jezreel Valley to the Red Orchestra, was published in 2003 and won the prize for literary achievement awarded annually by the Association of Composers and Musicians in Israel (ACUM).
