Heather Hermant
Heather Hermant is a Canadian scholar and multidisciplinary performing artist based in Tkaronto (Toronto). She holds a PhD in Gender Studies from Utrecht University, The Netherlands, with a dissertation on Esther Brandeau | Jacques La Fargue. She has most recently published on the topic in The Sephardic Atlantic: Colonial Histories and Postcolonial Perspectives. Her body of performance work stemming from the Brandeau | La Fargue story has included the mainstage theatre work ribcage: this wide passage translated to French and performed as thorax : une cage en éclats; and the experimental one-on-one performance Aujourdhuy / This Day, 1738. She is Lead Coordinator, Academic Initiatives at the Centre for Community Partnerships, University of Toronto.
