Jonathan Robert Branfman

Jonathan Branfman is the Eli Reinhard Postdoctoral Fellow in Jewish Studies at Stanford University, where he researches how Jewish media stars portray race, gender, and sexuality. To participate in the Jewish value of tikkun olam (repairing the world) beyond university classrooms, Jonathan has also published the LGBTQ children’s book You Be You: The Kid’s Guide to Gender, Sexuality, & Family, now translated into 22 languages. Jonathan thanks Kate Bornstein for her support of You Be You, which helped the book to find a press.
