Anne Bernays

Anne Bernays, the daughter of Doris Fleischman Bernays, is the author of nine novels, among them the award-winning Growing Up Rich and Professor Romeo. With Pamela Painter, she is the co-author of What If?, a book of writing exercises for fiction writers. Bernays also co-authored The Language of Names, with her husband, Justin Kaplan. Bernays, who currently teaches at Lesley University, has taught fiction since 1975 at a number of schools, including the University of Massachusetts and Boston College. In addition, for three years, Bernays occupied the Jenks Chair in Contemporary Letters at the College of the Holy Cross, together with Kaplan.
