Yossi Ben-Artzi
Yossi Ben-Artzi, rector of the University of Haifa, has a B.A. in the geography and history of the Middle East from the University of Haifa and an M.A. and Ph.D. from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. His major research area is the historical geography of the Land of Israel in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. His publications include Early Jewish Settlement Patterns in Palestine 1882–1914; From Germany to the Holy Land: The Templers’ Settlement in Palestine; and The Creation of the Carmel as a Segregated Jewish Residential Space in Haifa, 1918–1948.
