Marina Allemano

Marina Allemano teaches in the Scandinavian Studies Program and the Comparative Literature Program at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada. She received her B.A. in French language and literature from University of Guelph, Ontario, and her M.A. and Ph.D. in Comparative Literature at the University of Alberta. Her publications include Historical Portraits and Visions, Suzanne Brøgger: en introduktion (written in Danish) and articles in Scandinavica, Scandinavian Studies, Scandinavian-Canadian Studies, Horisont, Texts, Hrymfax, Danish Writers from the Reformation to 1900 (DLB series) and Female Voices from the North I: An Anthology. She has also translated from the Danish A Fighting Pig’s Too Tough to Eat and Other Prose Texts, by Suzanne Brøgger.

With more than twenty book titles to her name, Brøgger has received many awards and prizes including the Scena Drama Award for best play (After the Orgy) in 1992 in Washington D.C.
