JWA's vision for the Jewish future
Earlier this year, JWA's Etta King, Judith Rosenbaum and I produced a video entry for the Jewish Futures Competition responding to the question: "How will Jewish life, living and learning change as we move to a society in which individuals are not only consumers of information and culture, but also producers of their own and others' experiences?"
This video represents JWA's vision for the Jewish future — one where everyone has the power to change and expand the Jewish narrative. With the help of new technologies, every Jew will participate in uncovering, chronicling and sharing the rich and diverse story of the Jewish people. Our vision of the future is an inclusive one in which every story counts.
Though our video did not win the competition, the judges loved it so much that they chose to screen it at the closing of the Jewish Futures Conference in Denver, CO, on November 7, 2011. We wish to thank everyone who contributed to the project and all the friends of JWA who share our vision for the Jewish future.
