Earth Day: Honoring Jewish women environmentalists!
In January, we asked you to help us recognize the many Jewish women working to increase environmental consciousness and protect our planet. We were delighted by the response, and have been working on adding these new and important stories to our collection.
Today, in honor of Earth Day, we have added the first 9 women to the list. These 9 women are artists, lawyers, writers, teachers, publishers, filmmakers, activists, and organizers; they represent the multitude of ways we can each work to protect and improve our environment.
Visit our feature on Jewish Women in Environmental Activism to learn about the work of Helène Aylon, Ellen Bernstein, Judith Helfand, Roberta Kalechofsky, Paula Maccabee, Evonne Marzouk, Karyn Moskowitz, Jill Schneiderman, and Jodi Sugerman-Brozan.
We at JWA want to thank everyone who participated in helping us grow our collection. With your continued support, we will continue to be the world's leading resource on American Jewish women. Stay tuned for more additions and more stories of Jewish women in environmental activism later in the year!
